M.Ing. César Ulises Treviño
Civil Engineer graduated from Monterrey Tech in 1991. In 1993, he obtained a Master’s Degree in Construction Management and Structural Engineering from the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, in the United Kingdom. He has developed corporate experience within Grupo Vitro in Monterrey, Mexico, from 1991 to 1993 as Technical Adviser and Trade Manager for South America and the Caribbean. From 1994 to 1997 he was a guest reseacher and consultant at the Norwegian Building Research Institute in Oslo, Norway. At this Institute he specialized in areas such as applied IT systems, and quality and environmental management systems related to the building and construction industry. During 1997 to 2001 he was the Technical General Director for the Subway Construction Agency in Mexico City. Since 2001, he has been guest speaker at numerous conferences and has organized workshops throughout Mexico in promotion of sustainable building. In that same year, he founded “Green Building and Alternative Energy Co.”, based in Monterrey, Mexico. This firm offers consulting services for green building design, energy and environmental assessments, sustainable project management, as well as renewable energy systems. Currently, Mr. Treviño is also a postgrad professor at Monterrey Tech lecturing sustainable construction and domotics. He is the first LEED™ Accredited Professional in Latin America. Since 2003, he has been the Leader for the Mexican Green Building Challenge Team and a Committe Member of the International Initiative for a Sustainable Built Environment. Recently, Mr. Treviño has been appointed as Secretary to the World Green Building Council and is Founding President of the Mexican Green Building Council.
